CHAPTER 12: CAMERA BACK FRAMEWORK

Since I finished the aperture I have worked on the shutter mechanism that will be built around similar mechanichal parts, that peice of engineering have also been giving me some trouble just as the aperture did where I realized my initial plans did not work out as planned. The problems are now solved and my new plan seems to take care of the issues, or rather the things I overlooked in my initial design. But to give myself a break from those tiresome mechanichs Iīve constructed the camera back framework which will hold the film holder and ground glass as well as the back of the bellow. This peice turned out nice and reasonably easy to build. I also skipped the intricate mount that alowed the whole unit to be slid of the base plate easily if neccessary. This unit will be easy to remove anyway from the lego technic frame so thereīs no need to waste time on that part, the end result looks exactly the same as it would have done anyway, only itīs one solid peice. The holes in the bottom parts are for lego axles that will join this part with the bottom mechanics for the focusing and shifting etc.

Below is an image showing the film holder inserted into the frame. The film holder will be removed and replaced by the ground glass for image composition and focusing.
