19. Camera base mount
I´ve started working on a base mount for the camera. Originally I thought I was going to build it using Lego Techinc parts but figured that would look quite odd for the end product, even though I will hardly care once the project is wrapped. But my visually coherent mind still protest against breaking the overall visual appearance of the camera. The whole piece is pretty straight forward. My goal was to simply make this piece as sturdy as possible, and I had to take some care to get a snug fit between the front camera mount sliding back and forth over the base when focusing the image. I added some styrene plastic (the white parts) on the contact surfaces to reduce friction on the moving parts and to prevent these surfaces to wear out. I will still use a few Lego Technic axles to attach the camera back and front to the base through the holes seen along the upper edges of the mounting points.
